In 1997, Lyle and Mary
Thomas fulfilled a dream when they left the pressure and stresses of
city life and their careers to move to the Pemberton Valley where they
created Kodiak Ranch.
Mary recalls years of commuting and sitting in meetings - wishing she
could be working outdoors. There was certainly no shortage of outdoor
work as the ranch property was rugged and totally undeveloped!
In 2004, they moved to the Clearwater area near Wells Gray Provincial
Park where they are recreating Kodiak Ranch on a large waterfront
acreage along the North Thompson river.
Lyle's childhood years included
time spent on a ranch where he developed a love of horses. He and Mary also share a love of dogs - particularly Golden Retrievers.
Their move to the country has enabled them to pursue both interests. In addition to acquiring horses, they have developed
Kodiak Kennels
where they breed and raise Golden
Retrievers.
Their dream included the development of a retreat where others could escape the cares of the world and enjoy nature. It is their hope that guests will find the same rest and enjoyment at
Kodiak
Ranch Bed & Breakfast.
